PRC marked Father's Day with a celebration honoring the dads, father figures, and mentors in our community — recognizing the men who show up every day for their families while building toward stability.
This Father's Day, PRC Integrated Care Services paused to honor something that often goes unrecognized in housing and social services: the fathers. The dads who wake up early and stay up late. The men navigating case management, job training, and financial coaching while also showing up for school pickups, bedtime stories, and weekend breakfasts. We see you, and we wanted to say so directly.
Our Father's Day celebration brought together residents and program participants across our Independent Living, Case Management, and Apprenticeship programs for an afternoon of food, recognition, and community. Staff shared personal tributes and several program graduates spoke about what fatherhood and stability have meant to their journeys through PRC.
One participant in our Apprenticeship program, now seven months into his pre-apprenticeship track and earning a steady wage, told the group: "I used to tell my son 'someday.' PRC helped me make someday into today." There wasn't a dry eye in the room. Moments like that are why every navigator, coach, and coordinator shows up.
PRC recognizes that stable fatherhood and stable housing are deeply connected — and that the men in our programs carry an enormous amount of quiet strength. We are committed to building programs and spaces that honor that strength and give it room to grow. Happy Father's Day to every dad, grandfather, uncle, and father figure in the PRC family.
